Piedmont Fiber Guild exists to promote fiber arts by supporting and encouraging the passions of its members, through demonstrations, educational programs and workshops.
As dedicated fiber enthusiasts, we welcome everyone interested in creating with fiber. Our members include knitters, felters, weavers of all ilks, crocheters, lacemakers (tatted and bobbin), leather workers, spinners, quilters and sewers, shepherds, basketweavers, and dyers, as well as many others.
If you do it with a fibrous material WE WELCOME YOU!
PFG is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and as such we support the promotion of the fiber arts to the public as well as donating goods and services to a number of causes throughout the year.
We make chemo caps for patients at a variety of cancer treatment programs throughout the Piedmont, including the Levine Center for Children, cancer treatment centers in Kings Mountain, Gastonia, Shelby and Charlotte.
Previous efforts have included making and providing layettes for newborns at Camp Lejeune, making warm accessories for the homeless in the Charlotte metro area, and supporting Quilts for Kids by donating finished quilts to be given to children and by auctioning larger quilts and donating the proceeds to support their ongoing operations.
Charitable efforts are directed by member's interests and suggestions, with a focus project selected annually.
